| Putting
Audio Sound on your Web Site
Humming-Bird
Studios uses different types of sound files
that can be placed on your web pages. The
most common sound files used are WAVE (.wav),
MIDI (.mid), AU (.au), MP3 and RealPlayer
files. The one advantage of a MIDI file is
that they are much smaller and take less time
to download, but MIDI files only contain
background (instrumental) music. WAVE , au,
MP3 and RealPlayer files contain all types of
sounds (e.g. Vocal, background). However WAVE
and au. files are much larger than MIDI and
MP3 files, so it invariably takes longer to
download these files.

If you
require audio sound to be
automatically played, when your
visitors enter your web
site.Humming-Bird Studios indorses
MIDI as your best choice. Complete
songs in MIDI only occupy about 5k to
15k bytes, as opposed to a WAVE file
lasting more than a second will take
100k to load. |
