About Flash
Humming-Bird
Studios can add snappy interactivity
with creative Flash, Flash 5 and
Flash Movies incorporating special
effects, 2D and 3D animations and
full audio sound to your Web pages,
without those huge "click here
and go and have long supper"
files? Then Flash, Flash 5 or Flash
Movies may be for you.
With
Flash being so versatile,
Humming-Bird Studios can create
movies, commercials, 2D and 3D
animation, creating dynamic and
dazzling graphics and interfaces that
eat up an amazingly petite 5 to 50K.
Flash
was originally called FutureSplash.
Last year, Macromedia acquired the
small company that developed
FutureSplash as a way to complement
their flagship product Director.
Director, which has been around
longer than the Web, is a highly
scriptable program built to create
interactive presentations and games.
Flash
uses vector-based images and
graphics, which is an alternative to
standard GIFs and JPEGs, which lack
versatility and can also be file-size
challenged. Vector-graphics language
creates graphics via instructions,
instead of mapping out images pixel
by pixel. Also, a vector-based image
can be scaled to virtually any size
with no impact on file size or
quality.
Because
of bandwidth
concerns
on the Web, there has long been an
urgent need for vector
graphic standards.
Slowly but surely, these standards
are emerging.
But with Flash, the future is now.
